Aron (he/his) is a registered psychometrician, researcher, and currently a PhD Psychology student at the Australian National University. His research focuses on Critical Health Psychology, Cross-Cultural Psychology, Stigma, HIV/AIDS, LGBTQIA+, and Health Communication.
His goal is to address health disparities and enhance outcomes for marginalized communities. Aron's research delves into the experiences of indigenous students, individuals affected by COVID-19, those living with HIV, and LGBTQIA+ community members. By recognizing obstacles and suggesting evidence-based solutions, he strives for fair healthcare systems and improved well-being.
Aron actively engages in academic collaborations, sharing insights at conferences and scholarly platforms, driven by a passion for knowledge advancement and advocating for social progress.

COVID-19 STIGMA
This study aims to create a collaborative study within Southeast Asia, in assessing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on 3 major countries (Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia), focusing on personal perceived stigma, social support networks, quality of life, and health-seeking behavior during the recovery period of COVID-19 pandemic.
This project explores the experience of stigma across various marginalized student groups, including indigenous and ethnic minority groups, in three South East Asian countries (the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia); and investigates how these groups coped with the experienced stigma.
Funding:
This project aims to explore how Filipino MSM living with HIV experienced intersectional stigma and how this cohort has to cope with the intersectional stigma.
This study is called May Stigma Ba? HIV-related Stigma in the Philippine Context 2021. It is funded by the Global Fund multi-country grant program, through its partners the Australian Federation of AIDS Organisations (AFAO), The Love Yourself (TLY), and Culture and Arts Managers of the Philippines Pagayo, Inc. (CAMP). The purpose of the study is to understand HIV-related stigma in the Philippine context. The study aims to hear the experiences and views of men who have sex with men, transgender women, and their parents/families.
